  1. Sauté the Vegetables: On medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and green pepper in a large pot with butter until they are soft.
  2. Add Garlic: Add 1 tsp of minced garlic to the pot and mix together.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: In a separate skillet, sauté the shrimp in butter and season with Slap Ya Mama seasoning until they are cooked through.
  4. Add Sausage and Shrimp: Cut up the Cajun-style andouille sausage and add it to the pot with the sautéed vegetables. Then, add the cooked shrimp.
  5. Add Dairy and Seasoning: Pour in 1.5 cups of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream. Add 1 tbsp of Slap Ya Mama seasoning and mix all together.

Tips for Making:

  • Vegetable Variations: Feel free to add other vegetables like diced tomatoes or mushrooms.
  • Protein Options: If you’re not a fan of shrimp, you can substitute chicken or omit the shrimp altogether.
  • Noodle Choices: Use your favorite pasta shape; penne, fettuccine, or rotini all work well.
  • Adjusting Spice Levels: If you prefer a milder dish, reduce the amount of Slap Ya Mama seasoning.

How to Store:

  • Refrigeration: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat on the stovetop over low heat, adding a splash of milk or cream if the sauce has thickened too much.
  • Freezing: This pasta can be frozen for up to a month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat on the stovetop.
